The Science Teachers Association of Texas (STAT) is a statewide organization of elementary, middle level, and high school teachers, college educators, supervisors of science, and others dedicated to maintaining the highest levels of science and education in our schools. We are a chapter of the National Science Teachers Association.

The Conference for the Advancement of Science Teaching (CAST) is the annual meeting for all STAT members in Texas. CAST offers professional development opportunities, social activities, National Speakers, Administrators Institute and Exhibit Hall.

STAT is seeking volunteers to assist with the ongoing event coordination, hospitality and general day-to-day operations of CAST in Galveston, Texas, including a pre-conference meeting starting on Wednesday, November 4 and ending Saturday, November 7, 2009.
